How can I disable Clickable functionality of a bar chart

Hi,

Is it possible to disable or won't allow user to click a bar graph?

This is to avoid the user clik and the bar chart and consequently filter the others dimension in the page.

Thanks in advance!

As far as I know there is no read-only property to charts as in Qlikview, but can think about a workaround.

That is  making your chart belong to an alternative state. You might need to do some fiddling to your expression to respect selections in the original state, but that could make any selections in the bars be ignored by the rest of your application.

No read only feature as yet.  you can make use of alternate states. Define the chart expressions to use an alternate state and add a {1} set expression to ignore all selections. Clicking on the chart should not change the chart, and as nothing is using the same alternate state, nothing else will be affected either.

As @Vegar & @anat mention, there is no direct functionality for this but there is work around with Layout container.

Use Layout container > add bar chart > on top of bar chart add either text object or text or image object.

In styling property of text object > set background color as transparent.

@PrashantSangle

Using a Layout container as you describes sounds like a very neat way to achieve read only functionality on a chart. It's like putting an invisble protective sheald on the top 🪟

I know the layout container is available in Qlik Cloud, but not sure about the availability on the on-prem Windows version. Do you know more about this @PrashantSangle ?

Layout container is available in Feb 2024 version.

In my desktop version it is there.
